Today, 538 members of the Electoral College will meet to either confirm Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States, or vote against him.
There are three outcomes to this vote:
1. All or the majority of electorate voters cast their vote for Trump.
2. The majority votes against Trump and votes to give Hillary Clinton the White House based on the popular vote.
3. The electorate voters vote for neither and nominates an alternative. While the chances of this happening are pretty narrow, there has never been in my lifetime such a contentious election as this one in front of us.
We have a President-Elect who ran his entire platform based on hate and bias, who doesn't understand what Intelligence Briefings are for, who has a more than questionable relationship with the Russian president (accused of hacking the election in Trump's favor), the appointment of cabinet positions to known racists and billionaires such as himself who will not have the best interest of the poor and middle class in mind, and a person who overall does not have a clue what it really takes to run his country and be a global leader,
We that are concerned for the direction this country will take under Trump, can only hope the electorate college will vote their conscious and not their party; that they will place the country above all else. We shall soon see.
